A CUBIC EQUATION f(x) = 0 has a real root x and two complex roots a+ib and a-ib these points are represented as pts.A,B,C respectively in argand plane. SHOW THAT THE ROOTS OF THE DERIVED EQUATION f'(x) = 0 (i.e DERIVATIVE OF f(x) ) ARE COMPLEX. IF A FALLS ON ANY ONE OF THE TWO EQUILATERAL TRIANGLES DESCRIBED ON BASE BC

Is heights and distances in the syllabus?

by Abhishek DeyDas -
Hi!

Is Heights and Distances included in the syllabus? Its not mentioned directly and is given in some materials but not in others. However, there is a topic called applications of trigonometry in the syllabus. Can you please clear me out?

Thanks,
Abhishek.

these are small doubts that stopped me proceeding further

1) when we integerate a odd or differentiate a odd function should we get a even function and vice versa

for eg-integeral sinx=-cosx
        d(sinx)/dx=cosx

here sinx is an odd function and while both integrating and differentiating we get an even function cosx

2) what should we do if we have to area under the curve if it involves points of inflection should we seperately integerateeach of them and add their modulii or as usual integerate between the upper and lower limits

3) what are the general procedure to follow when asum invoves modulus function and greatest integer function something like squaring or sandwiching principle

thats all for this one please answer these
to manish sir

Check out this optics problem:

A small convex mirror is placed 60cm from the pole and on the axis of a large concave mirror of R=200cm. The position of the convex mirror is such that the image of a distant object is formed in the plane of the hole cut at the Centre of the concave mirror.

Find height of the final image of the distant object if it subtends an angle of (½)° at the pole of the concave mirror.
