A projectile is fired with velocity of 10(sqrt)3 m/s @ angle 60 to the horizontal at the same instant a wedge of inclination 30 moves with velocity 10(sqrt)3 m/s..in the same direction find the time after which the particle collides with the wedge??
pls ans asap..

Since the wedge is mentioned to be without any friction, so we assume that the surface is frictionless.
Now, the linear distance covered by the wedge should be equal to the range of the projectile with given conditions.

So, u^{2} sin 2(theta)/g = v t

putting u = 10 \sqrt{3} ; \theta = 60 ; g = 10 m/s  ; v = 10 \sqrt{3}

The answer should be 1.5 seconds.

The data about inclination of wedge is not required as it is in linear motion.
