The ionisation energy of Hydrogen-atom is 13.6 ev.H-atoms in the ground state are excited by monchromatic light of energy 12.1 ev.The spectral lines emitted by H-atoms according to Bohr's theory will be:

(A)n=3 to n=1 (B) n=3 to n=2 (C) n=2 to n=1 (D) n=4 to n=1

I think (A),(B),(C) are correct while (D) is incorrect.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Because energy needed for transitions A,B,C are 12.089eV,1.889eV and 10.2eV respectively which are less than  12.1eV, while that of D is 12.75eV which is greater than 12.1eV
