Will spectral lines be seen for 2px to 2pz transition. Please explain.

no,spectral lines will not be seen for 2px to 2pz transition as they are degenerate orbitals(of same energy level).spectral lines are only seen when change(release) of energy takes place.

Yes. The electron passes through a nodal plane. There will be spectral lines.

hahahahaha

Nodal plane?

listen man ,
we agree that 2px and 2py are degenarate

so transition relieves no energy
answer is simple

and first of all what nodal planes are you talking about
a nodal plane is defined as a 0 probable place for finding an electron
so electron shouldn't exist in that region at any time
or else there would have been a non zero probability

hence whatsoever you told is wrong
moreover no one has seen the path via which an electron travels
have they
hahahahahahahahaabig grin
