Why 1-Bromo-bicyclo [2.2.1]-heptane does not show elimination reaction in presence of a base?
According to Bredt's rule any double bond at the bridgehead carbon atom makes the compound unstable. Here if the given compound undergoes elimination a double bond will form at the C-1 carbon atom. Hence it does not undergo elimination in presence of a base.
i dunno about the rule but it's simple 2 see that sp2 carbon formed
after elimination can't be planar and hence unstable.
