the direction of normal force is always perpendicular to 'surfaces in contact '

at the point of contact of the bodies ....draw a tangent to  the surfaces and draw a line perp to the tgt.......at the point of contact of the bodies ...tht will be the direcn of the normal reaction of one body on the other....they are equal and opposite
