Respected sir,

What is the difference between chlorine free radical and chlorine atom.Both contain the same number of electrons.Then what is the difference?

Chlorine free radical comes when a chlorine atom is homolytically cleaved.Chlorine atom has no stability.It forms a Cl2 molecule. The free radical is also unstable.

I think both chlorine atom and chlorine free radical are the same.

no i dont thinkĀ  there is any difference between a free radical and a chlorine atom ........both are what we get when chlorine atom is homolytically cleaved
