Re: Functions

If a function is defined in an interval, say [0, 4] and it is to be redefined for the interval, say [-4, 4], then this newly defined function in [-4, 4] is called the extension of the original function.

Visit glossary and search for "function" fo find the definitions of even and odd functions.

hi,
If f(-x)=-f(x) then it is even function.For eg:Sine,tan functions n etc.If f(-x)=f(x) then is ODD function.For eg:Cosine,x^2.ok.

EVEN FUNCTION:   If f(-x) = f(x)   example  f(x)=x2

ODD FUNCTION:    If f(-x) = -f(x)   example f(x)=x3
