Q.   27 identical mercury drops are charged simultaneously to the same potential of 10V. What will be the potential if all the charged  drops are made to combine to form one large drop? (Assume drops to be spherical)

Well this is a question of conservation of charge + conservation of volume apply both :

27 * Volume of small drop = volume of big drop

we get , 3r = r'

obtain relation between radii and then charge in both cases will be the same do Kq/r' = kq/(3r)= 10/3 volts
