A battery is connected between two points A and B on the circumference of a uniform conducting ring of radius r and resistance R . One of the arcs AB subtends an angle "THETA" at the centre . The value of the magnetic field at the centre of the ring due to the current is
a) proportional to (pi-theta)
b) inversly proportional to r
c) Zero if only theta = pi
d) zero for all values of theta
The answer I have is "d" .But this is only possible if current in the both the arcs is the same . But wont the current be different in the two arcs since an arc with longer length will ahve greater value of resistance hence less current.
I think the answer should be "a" and "c"
Thank You, Sir
