A force F tangentially acts at the highest point of a sphere of mass M kept on a rough horizontal plane. If there is perfect rolling, what is the acceleration of the center of the sphere.

For the translation of centre of mass: F - f = Ma

Here, f is the frictional force.

For rotation, \(F.R + f.R = I\alpha\)

Mention of pure rolling in the question lets you connect translational and rotational motions.

So, we have \(a=R\alpha\).
