When the light of wavelength 470 nm falls on the surface of potassium metal, electrons are emitted with velocity of 6.4 * 104 ms-1. Calculate the minimum energy required per mole to remove an electron from potassium metal?

Is E= h/v and avagadro's constant sufficient for this question. ? and if yes then where do we use wavelength and potassium metal.

Reply with solution.

Thanks!

Work function is being asked per mol.Just use E=work function+K.E. and find out work function. Multiply it by Avogadro's constant.
