How many natural numbers not exceeding 4321 can be formed with the digits 1,2,3 and 4 ,if the digits can repeat?  Answer is 313.

First calculate total nos. formed by digits 1,2,3,4 which will come out to be 340.Then find the nos. which are greater then 4321 which will come out to be 27.Finally subtract to get final result which is 340-27=313
