Gaseous State

by Krishnan S -
In a basal metabolism measurements timed at 6.0 minute,a patient exhaled 52.5 litre of air,measured over water at 20oC.The vapour pressure of water at 20oC is 17.5 torr.The barometric pressure was 750 torr.The exhaled air analysed 16.75 volume % of oxygen and the inhaled air 20.32 volume % of oxygen,both on dry basis. Neglecting any solubility of the gases in water and and difference in the total volume of inhaled and exhaled air,calculate rate of oxygen consumption by the patient in mL(STP) per minute.

Two n digit integers are said to be equivalent if one is a permutation
of the other. for eg. 10075 and 01057 are equivalent.

Find the number of 5 digit integers such that no two are equivalent

For how many values of "a" will the following equation have two equal roots:

x^3 + (a^2++a-1)x^2 + (a^3-a^2-a)x -a^3

infinite integration

I calculate on a spreadsheet using Simpson's Rule that:

the integral of  mod(sinx)3/x2 from 0 to infinity (or at least a very large number) is almost exactly 1.

I therefore speculate that the answer is EXACTLY 1 but have no way of proving it.

Can this be proved, or disproved, and how?

The weight of one litre sample of ozonised oxygen at NTP was found to be 1.5gm.When 100 ml of this mixture at NTP were treated with terpentine oil,the volume was reduced to 90ml.Hence,Calculate the molecular weight of ozone.
